The West Rim is located 120 miles from Las Vegas. It takes motor coaches about 2.5 hours to drive there. Some travelers prefer to self-drive, but in this case, I don't recommend it: the last ten miles of road is in bad condition and the fees you'll pay along the way are excessive.
This rim is packed with activities and attractions. The main points of interest are Guano Point, Eagle Point and the Indian Cultural Center. The #1 attraction is Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass bridge that lets you walk 70 feet past the edge.
The South Rim bus is the most popular tour in Vegas. It's here where you'll see the "official" Grand Canyon. Key sights include Mather Point, Yaki Point, Yavapai Observation Station and Grand Canyon Village. This rim is 270 miles from Vegas and is a 5.5-hour drive. The tour starts at 7 a.m. and has you back at your Strip hotel by around 9 p.m. It's definitely a full day but worth every minute.
Making these bus tours so much more enjoyable are the luxury motor coaches that go between Vegas and the canyon. These buses are phenomenal and come with on-board bathroom, pull-down blinds, lounge-style seats, plasma TVs and a whisper-ride suspension that gives you the feeling you're floating on air.
No trip to Las Vegas is complete without a bus tour to the canyon. The cost is already a steal. Now combine them with these coupons and it's an absolute bargain. West Rim weather is a lot like Vegas'. The South Rim's elevation is 7,000 feet so it's cooler during summer and much colder during winter. My advice is dress accordingly. The only thing left is to book that tour and hit the road!
Have a Grand Day,

P.S. Still researching which tour operator is best? Check out my tour bus reviews. I rank the Top 3 based on safety, selection and price!
